Q: I cannot connect to the uktelevision.tv service using my email address and password, where am I going wrong?
A: Your personal email address and password are used to set up your account on the uktelevision.tv website, however your Unit Login Credentials can be found on the left hand side when you sign in at http://www.uktelevision.tv/login.asp
Your SlingPlayer or SlingCatcher login credentials will be in the following format:
Username : UKT***@uktelevision.tv
Password : ********
Q: What do I do if my unit becomes uncontrollable and/or freezes/hangs?
A: If your box becomes uncontrollable for any reason it could be one of two problems.
Firstly, if you are receiving a blank screen or a screen saying ‘Weak or no video signal detected’, your Digi-Decoder may simply be turned off.
Press the Power button on your remote (then select Send Power to SlingBox for SlingCatcher users.) and see if it powers up. (Boot procedure can take up to 2 minutes, please be patient.)
If you are receiving a frozen or uncontrollable picture from your box then please visit http://www.uktelevision.tv , and login to get to your account page.
On the left hand side, under your Unit Credentials you will find a manual reset switch which will run a power down cycle on all your equipment, then restore it..
(Boot procedure can take up to 2 minutes please be patient.)
Q: Where can I find my SlingBox ID?
A: When using Older versions of SlingPlayer, or running on Mac OSX, you must enter the SlingBox ID to connect to your uktelevision.tv service.
Your SlingBox ID can be found underneath your Unit Login Credentials, on the account page, when you login at http://www.uktelevision.tv/login.asp
Q: Why does my connection not reach my full 2 Mbps allowance?
A: At UKTelevision.tv we have a minimum of 1.2 Mbps upload designated for each connection. This will increase to around 2 Mbps when the bandwidth is available.
If you are not receiving at least 1.2 Mbps (1024 kbps) then check that you have the available bandwidth of at least the necessary 1 Mbps from your service provider.
(Note if you only have a 1 Mbps line, that is fine, but it is not recommended that you use it for anything else while connected to UKTelevision.tv, as this will hinder you picture quality and connection.)
This can also occur when using SlingPlayer over a Wireless Network or using a 3G dongle, as the connection potential varies depending on the signal strength of your connection to the local Wireless connection or 3G service providers.)
Q: Why is there a delay when I press a button on the remote?
A: Every time a key is pressed on a SlingPlayer or SlingCatcher remote, the signal must be sent over the internet, and to your uktelevision.tv unit.
The Unit Set Top Box will then receive the command, and the result must again be sent over the internet back to your TV or Computer.
This is an unavoidable delay to allow for the use of a remote control.
Q: Where can I buy a SlingCatcher?
A: The SlingCatcher product has been discontinued and removed from the US market place by manufacturer SlingMedia.
Limited stock can still be found with some online retailers and in Europe.
For information on alternatives or any other questions, please send an email to info@uktelevision.tv .
Q: I have activated my trial, but I am having trouble getting connected. Will I still have the time to have a good look at the service?
A: No Problem, simply sends an email to support@uktelevision.tv and once your issue is resolved, they will add some more time to your trial to enable you to have a good look.
Q: My trial has expired, but after I have paid for viewing time, I cannot reconnect. Where am I going wrong?
A: When your viewing time expires, the unit assigned to you is moved into an offline state.
When you then purchase viewing time, a different unit is assigned to your account.
You will need to login to the NEW unit to connect to the service.
These credentials can be found on the left hand side when you login at http://www.uktelevision.tv/login.asp
If you wish to keep the same unit, this can be easily achieved by purchasing more viewing time before your previous purchase or trial has expired.
Q: I clicked the big red ‘Activate Trial’ button and nothing happened. Am I missing something.
A: When you click the trial button, your SlingBox credential will appear on the left hand side of your account page.
These are the unit login credentials for your uktelevision.tv service.
You will need to enter these credentials once you have installed and run SlingPlayer onto your system.
SlingPlayer can be downloaded from your Account page or in the Documents and Downloads area.
Q: Will the uktelevision.tv service work on my Apple Mac?
A: Of course it does!
When using SlingPlayer for Mac OSX your need to connect using your units SlingID.
Your SlingBox ID can be found underneath your Unit Login Credentials, on the account page, when you login at http://www.uktelevision.tv/login.asp
Q: Why do some of the buttons on the remote not function correctly?

Please see the SlingCatcher or SlingPlayer Remote Readmes to learn more.

Q: Why is there a bad signal when I first connect?
A: When first establishing connection, your SlingMedia product requires a few minutes to fill its temporary cache and establish the best available connection. After a minute or so, when full connection is established, the picture quality will begin to increase, and will only drop again if connection is lost or hindered temporarily.
Please note that due to uktelevision.tv reliance on a constant internet connection, occasional interruptions in service are inevitable, as we are in the hands of local internet service providers.
You should also always ensure that you have at least 1 Mbps bandwidth for download set aside for your uktelevision.tv connection.
Q: Where are the hidden costs?
A: There are none!
The prices are as displayed, in full, and there are no yearly contracts to commit to on the part of the customer.
Equipment rental and all other costs are included in these prices.
The only extra cost is if you would like to view the uktelevision.tv service through your home television. This requires the purchase of a SlingCatcher box, which plugs into your tv and home network.
SlingCatchers are available at most major electronics suppliers and online.
